Rev. Dr. Ramy N. Marcos

Rev. Dr. Ramy N. Marcos is a minister and scholar whose academic and pastoral work reflects a commitment to theological education, cross-cultural understanding, and congregational ministry.

Dr. Marcos earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Cairo University. He continued his theological training at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo—the official Egyptian Presbyterian seminary of the Synod of the Nile—where he completed both the Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Theological Studies degrees. During this time, he began publishing scholarly studies and books.

He later received a scholarship to attend Yale Divinity School, earning a Master’s degree, and completed his Ph.D. at Hartford International University, further developing his research and teaching in theology and World Christianity.

Dr. Marcos is the author of numerous academic and spiritual writings. His recent book, The Emergence of Evangelical Egyptians, explores the history and cultural impact of Presbyterian missions in Egypt.

In addition to his scholarly work, Dr. Marcos serves as a minister in the Presbyterian Church and has taught as a professor, sharing his passion for theology and ministry with students and congregations alike.

He works across several languages, including Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking), French (reading), and the classical languages of Biblical Greek, Biblical Hebrew, and Syriac.
